The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Zephyr line was first produced during the mid-1950s. The first was the ref. 6582 which sported the cal. 1030 movement. As far as vintage Oyster Perpetuals go, a Zephyr is hard to beat. The Zephyr we have here is a ref. 1008 which has the iconic sector or hairline dial with a gold bezel, gold crown and the distinctive bezel. The watch comes with a steel and gold riveted 7205 bracelet. This piece was produced in 1966, a special year for those from the England, and comes with its guarantee papers from Austria.

The champagne hairline dial is in fantastic condition with all lume plot hour markers in place and clearly defined detail and type. The dial is marked ‘T SWISS T’ below the 6 o’clock hour marker. The watch is fitted with gold alpha hands with a sweeping second hand. The 36mm stainless-steel case is fitted with the iconic Zephyr bezel and a gold screw down Rolex crown. The case has some hairline scratches and dinks. House behind the case back is the coveted cal. 1570 movement which was released a year prior to the production of this specific piece. The movement is running well. The watch is paired with its steel and gold riveted 7205 bracelet which is in good condition considering is age although does have some hairline scratches and general wear. The piece comes with its original guarantee from its retailer in Austria, Rudolf Hubner, dated 1970. The punched guarantee papers are stamped with the correct serial matching the watch and the reference ‘1007’ which we, and other specialists which we have shown the papers to, believe to be a mistake on the date of sale.
