CARTIER TANK NORMALE PARIS DIAMOND SET CASE REF. 7809 CIRCA 1980S
Since its creation by Louis Cartier in 1917, the Cartier Tank has been associated with some of the worlds most renowned figures from Royalty to actors from politicians to sports stars. The Cartier Tank is an iconic piece, steeped in horological history. Its design has certainly stood the test of time taking on a variety of different forms. The piece we have here is the Cartier Tank Normale, which dates to the 1980s. It has a slightly thicker framed case to the Tank. The Cartier Tank Normale ref. 7809 is in a fair condition considering its age. The white dial features blue ‘sword’ hands, black roman numerals and has the special addition of ‘Paris’ stamped blow the 6 o’clock hour marker. The dial has some light cracking in the corners as you can see in the images. The 18ct gold case measures 20mm and has a sapphire set crown. The case also features after set diamonds. Housed behind the screw down case back is a manually wound movement which is running well. It has been paired with a pink leather strap.
