CARTIER LONDON 9CT GOLD WRISTWATCH CIRCA 1956
CARTIER LONDON 9CT GOLD WRISTWATCH CIRCA 1956
On offer is a rare Cartier dress watch dating to 1956. The dial is in its original condition with a light patina and showcases a subsidiary seconds dial and gold arrow head hour markers. The 35mm 9ct gold case is stamped with London hallmarks dating it to 1956. The case is in a fair condition considering its age with some hairline marks and dinks throughout stamped inside 6529. The rear of the lug is stamped ‘5767’. Housed behind the snap on case back is a manually wound Jaege Le-Coultre movement which is clean and running well (Jacque Cartier used JLC movements extensively at this time). The watch is fitted on a period brown leather signed strap with a 9ct gold Cartier buckle. The buckle is stamped with London hallmarks mirroring those of the case with the addition of the ‘JC’ Jacques Cartier hallmark. This piece comes with its original Cartier box.
