Founded in 1860 by Louis-Ulysee Chopard, Chopard is a Swiss manufacturer & retailer of luxury watches, jewellery and accessories. In the mid 20th century, Chopard was taken over by Scheufele family. Karl Friedrich Scheufele and his passion for classic cars was the impetus for Chopard taking on the twin roles of partner and official timekeepers of the Mille Miglia race. The Mille Miglia line, is said to be inspired by the many, what are now classic cars, that had taken place in the famous race. It goes without saying this line showcases a racy aesthetic with the functionality of a tool watch.

The Chopard Mille Miglia Gran Turismo XL ref. 8997 showcases a black dial with a date window at 3 o’clock. Fitted with luminous baton hour markers, large ‘sword’ hands, centre seconds hand and an inner bezel.A plain bezel is fitted on the 44mm stainless steel case. The case and dial have remained in great condition. Housed behind the exhibition case back is an automatic movement, which is running well. The watch has been fitted with its original rubber strap with its original buckle and is sold with its original strap. The watch also comes equipped with its box, outer box, instruction book and chronometer certificate.
