The Cartier Tank is an iconic piece, steeped in horological history. Its design has certainly stood the test of time taking on a variety of different forms. The piece we have here is the Cartier Tank Americaine which was released in 1989, with the Francaise following shortly in 1989. There are a few sizes of the Americaine, yet all with the same stretched form for a perfect fit on the wrist.

The Cartier Tank Americaine ref. 1740 is in fantastic condition. Starting with the dial which is in its original, clean condition with clear and defined type. The 27x45mm 18ct gold case is in perfect condition. The case is fitted with a sapphire set crown. Housed behind the screw down case back is an automatic movement which is clean and running well. The watch is fitted on its original pink Cartier leather strap with its 18ct gold buckle. This piece also comes with a TSW travel case.
