The Cartier Tank is an iconic piece, steeped in horological history. Its design has certainly stood the test of time taking on a variety of different forms. The piece we have here is the Cartier Tank Americaine which was released in 1989, with the Francaise following shortly in 1989. There are a few sizes of the Americaine, yet all with the same stretched form for a perfect fit on the wrist.

The Cartier Tank Americaine ref. W2601456 has a 23x41mm 18ct gold case and is in good condition. The case is fitted with a sapphire set crown. Housed behind the screw down case back is a quartz movement which is clean and running well. The watch is fitted on its leather strap with its original 18ct gold Cartier buckle.
